
Dorothy was born November 3rd, 1937 in Bakersfield, Ca to Carl and Mildred Cotton (Deweese). As a daughter of an oil field worker, Dorothy split her formative years near Norman, Oklahoma and Bakersfield, California. In 1959, Dorothy Married Edward “Don” Mullowney, Jr in Exeter, Ca and the couple had a son in 1961.
In the 1960’s Dorothy began a lifelong career as a health care giver, first as an LVN and eventually as an RN. Most of her years as a nurse were spent at Kaweah Delta Hospital, where she served in many capacities, but primarily as an ER nurse. Dorothy was a proud and fiercely dedicated health care provider and in her later years became a strong proponent and advocate of patient rights.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her father Carl Cotton, mother Mildred Deweese-Cotton and beloved brother Jerry Cotton. Dorothy is survived by her son and daughter in law, Ed and Debbie Mullowney and her grandchildren Patrick and Erin Mullowney.
Graveside services will be held at the Visalia Cemetery at 1300 W. Goshen Ave in Visalia Ca on February 18th at 10:00 am.
