

Dorsey Neal “Bud” Dean was born in Telephone Texas on May 4, 1938. He was the fifth child born to Claude & Lillie Dean. He attended elementary school in Stanfield, Arizona and High School in Casa Grande, Arizona until his freshman year. He left school to help his family work, traveling from place to place looking for farm labor work. He came to Calif. when he was 15 yrs. Old and started assembling at the Church of the Firstborn in Fresno, Calif. He became a member in Jan. of 1955 and was an elder in the Tulare church from 1974-2013.He married Elizabeth Joan Murch on March 16, 1957 & made their first home in Tulare, Calif. To this union was born three children, Sharon, Sandy & Mike. He was employed by Fulton Pump in Tulare Calif. & later working for Soults Pump in Tulare. He started working for DCI Construction in 1970 and started his own business, Western Dairy Construction Inc. in 1978 until the present time. He constructed Fresno State Dairy in 1983 & built & repaired other dairies in the Tulare & Kings County area. He started Hightower Construction, specializing in Commercial work and built the Mineral King Radiological Medical Group in Visalia in Nov. 1987. In his later years he enjoyed farming on his walnut orchards. He enjoyed deer & elk hunting & loved to watch westerns on T.V. He always enjoyed his grandchildren & Great grandchildren getting together for birthdays, BBQ’s & pool parties. He’s survived by his wife, Elizabeth of 56 years, Daughter Sharon & husband Lloyd Wright of Visalia, Ca. Daughter Sandy Serpa, of Visalia, Ca., Son Mike, & wife Sheri Dean of Strathmore, Ca. Sister, Lenora Barrett, of Tryon, Okla. Five Grandchildren, Mark Wright & wife Jaclyn of Lindsay, Ca., Jeremy Rossiter of Pixley, Ca., Scott Wright & wife Jessica of Lindsay, Ca., Kathaleen McPhetridge, and husband, Zane of Visalia, Ca. Tiffany Wright & husband Tyler of Longmont, Colo. Ten Great Grandchildren, Jacob, Jaden, Chase, Corey, Charli, Wright, Blake, Luke, & Aria Wright, Madison McPhetridge & Kade Wright along with many other family & friends He was preceded in Death by his parents, Claude & Lillie Dean, Four siblings, Maybelle Dean, Grover Dean, Henry Dean & Claudia Trumbo. “Dad”, “Grandpa” always said, “I do all this for you children.” He will be greatly missed. Grandsons, Mark, Scott, Jeremy, Tyler, Zane and Great Grandson, Jacob will be proud to carry him to his final resting place.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 w. Goshen Ave in Visalia, CA at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2013. Bro. Wesley Hamm & Bro. Stoney Porter will officiate the service.
