Heartfelt sympathy to the entire Gleason Family. Ed was my Godfather. He was fast friends with my Grandfather, George W. "Rusty" Johnson. A kinder gentler man, I have yet to meet. Another of the "Greatest Generation" leaves this world to be with his maker. May God Bless and keep Him!

We are so sorry for your grief.  Ed is now with Michael, his sister, Mary, G'ma & G'pa Gleason, Pat and Josie and, of course his Lord.  I bet that meeting was something else. Being a God Parent can only be fully realized as an adult.  Thank you for saying YES!  We love you so much and always shall.   Since the services are private, count on the fact that I shall be making a trip to Arlington National Cemetery to chat with Ed at his final resting place. I am sorry to hear of your loss.  My Father is also 92 and a veteran.  That was such a special generation of people.  We are blessed for the many years we have had them in our lives, but it's still never easy to say good-bye.  Thinking of you all.

Mary ,Patty,and Mary Kay,I was saddened by the news about the loss in your lives. How wonderful it was to have a husband and father for all these years. It truly was a blessing for his longevity. My family and I express our condolences.

I hated to hear about Ed.  He was actually my Godfather. I hated that after they left T'ville I think I only saw him once. I know that Mike greeted him as well as my dad.

Patty and Mary Kay, 
I have so many fond memories of your father from my very early years. I never called him uncle, although that is what he was. To me he was "Boy". It was Boy and Mary Frances. I can remember him coming home in his WWII Army Air Corps uniform with all his gear. Then later returning on crutches after his plan crashed. For a while he and your mom lived with me and my mom.

I remember how happy I was to learn they were going to have a baby. Then not too long later (although at that age it seemed to be ages), I was simply ecstatic to find that I was to have a brother. Well a sibling who it so happened to be a brother.

Somehow, for some reason, our families grew apart and I have never understood why. But in my heart I have always had those fond memories of my uncle, Boy.
