Elisa was born in Los Angeles, California on August 26, 1933 to Teodoro Silva and Leonila Valero Silva. She came to the Cutler/Orosi area at the age of 11 with her parents where she was raised and educated. Elisa attended College of the Sequoias for a short time.
She was an active member of the Orosi Community Church. Elisa worked as a child care aide for over 40 years and loved every minute. All children made her smile, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she was happiest when with them. She loved attending their events, whatever it was and playing board games with them. She loved to keep them honest. Elisa was an avid reader, and enjoyed visiting and caring for her family and friends. She never met a stranger that she couldn’t visit with.
She had a quiet spirit but was very outgoing and giving of herself and her talents. Elisa will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Elisa was preceded in death by her parents, Teodoro and Leonila and her son Tony preceded her in August of 2009.
She leaves to cherish her memory, four children, Frank Manquero and wife Mona of Arizona, Robert Manquero and wife Priscilla of Orosi, CA, Sylvia Orona and husband David of Dinuba, CA and Gloria Schwindt and husband Todd of Clovis, CA; one brother Jesse Silva of Visalia and one sister Ofelia Martinez of San Jose; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
