Ernestine was born the oldest daughter of 13 children by German speaking Russian immigrant parents in South Dakota. She was raised on a farm in South Dakota and moved to Los Angeles in 1940 where she met her late husband John.
After retirement, in 1977 Ernestine and John moved to Visalia where she lived until her passing.
Ernestine is survived by her two sons Jimmy and George; Grandchildren April, Karen, Jill and Sam; Great-Grandchildren Dylan and Cassidy; Sister Bernice; and Brothers Erwin, Harvey and Richard.
Ernestine worked in a aircraft assembly plant during World war II but after the war she became a full time mother and homemaker. She loved to camp, fish, sew, knit, read and work crossword puzzles.
Ernestine was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Sister and will be missed.
