Gabriel was the fourth of eleven children born to Gabriel Sr., and Julia De La Garza.
Gabriel met Norma when she was fourteen and he was eighteen. He proposed to her then and they were good friends until they married many years later.
After working in the fields for many years Gabriel worked as a tire builder at Pirelli Armstrong Tire Corp. Mean while he began to golf, cycle and work on old cars. He loved to be busy and was gifted with the ability to finish any job that he attempted to do. Gabriel was very active. He became a long distance cyclist, avid golfer, jogger, walker and a handyman at home.
Gabriel did everything with a smile. He was a wonderful husband, a “cool” dad to his son Rick. He was a good son and a loving brother to his siblings, a good “dad” to his daughter Melissa.
Gabriel is survived by his beloved wife Norma, his daughter Melissa De La Garza and his sisters, Viola Rocha, Adrian Chacon, Stella Smith, Norma Navarrette, Rita Maldonado and brother Ray De La Garza.
He is also survived by two granddaughters, three great grandsons and many nieces and nephews.
Gabriel has sadly lost his parents Gabriel Sr. and Julia De La Garza, Also his step-son Richard Gonne and sisters Irma Silva, Diane Molina, Linda Leon and brother Frank De La Garza.
