STORY: Gerald Lloyd Swift born Dec. 18, 1924 and passed away Feb. 17, 2012 at the age of 87. He was born to Harry and Beulah Swift in Kansas City, Kansas, along side his identical twin brother Harold Swift. Gerald and Harold played sports together, went into the Navy and college together. They both were teachers and worked their way to be school administrators until retirement.
Gerald and Marian (Williams) were married for 62 years until Marian’s death in 2009. They lived in Delano for 40 years. After retirement they moved to the Exeter Foothills and had running thoroughbreds for 14 years. After that era they moved to Visalia.
Gerald was quite a character, he kept us entertained for years. Marian and Gerald never had any children, but had many nieces and nephews that truly loved them. They had a life long friend Henry Mejia that took care of all their business in Delano for years.
Gerald is survived by Loretta (Bernard) Bethel, nephews, Gene Cotton, Stan Williams and Scott Swift, Gail(Chuck)Etheridge, Christi(Gary)Brechter, Pamala(Matt)Koelzer, sister in law, Jenny Larson and brother in law, Clarence Williams.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012 from 2pm until 5pm at Miller Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Monday, Feb. 27, 2012 at 11:00am at the Delano Cemetery.
