Gertrudes Frietas-Ormonde, 87, of Tulare, California passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2011 after a short battle with cancer. Gertrudes was born November 13, 1923 in Villa Nova, Terceira, Azores. She was married to late husband Antoinio Sousa-Ormonde on February 8, 1945.
She is survived by sons, Pedro Freitas-Ormonde of Ontario, Canada and Avelino Freitas-Ormonde of Visalia, California. She is further survived by Grandchildren; Steve Ormonde, Eddie Ormonde, Diane Avila, Kenny Ormonde, Jeff Ormonde and Michael Ormonde, followed by 15 great-grand children.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 9 from 3-7p.m. at Millers Funeral Chapel in Visalia, CA. Funeral Mass will be Friday, March 11, 2011 at 10:00am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Tulare, CA followed by interment at Visalia District Cemetery.
