Gordon Ponder

Gordon was born on April 10, 1934 in Wichita Falls, Texas to J.C. and Thressa Ponder.

Gordon grew up in Burkburnett, Texas. He joined the Navy in 1952 and served in the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged with many numerous decorations.

Gordon married Glenda, the love of his life, for 50 years. He moved to California in 1963 and has been living in Visalia, Ca for the past 47 years. Gordon owned his own pool business, worked for the Goshen community services and retired from the Ivanhoe Public Utilities District in 2003.

Gordon is survived by his sister, Vicki; children, Treona, Randy, Carroll, Sam, Micki and their spouses and his best friend and companion Judy. He has 14 Grandchildren, and 21 Great Grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Glenda; Parents, J.C. and Thressa; Brother, Johnny; Sister, Marie.

We regret that we can not name each family friend, but know that Gordon loved you dearly and regarded you all as family.

Graveside Services will be held Thursday January 5, 2012 at 12:00pm at the Visalia Cemetery.
