On Thursday, October 5, 2023, Herlinda Fierro our dearest mother, passed away. She was 87 years old, born in Nuevo León, Mexico, in 1936. She made her way to the United States in 1964. While here in California she labored as a field worker, seamstress for Baylee’s Factory, production worker at California Olive Plant, and laborer at a rose nursery in Visalia until her retirement. Herlinda was married to Frank Fierro for 41 years and was a long time Visalia resident. Quilt making was one hobby she filled her time with. She truly enjoyed rummaging through thrift stores collecting Knick knacks to add to her vast collection. She also loved gardening and growing plants and flowers in her yard, which was her favorite past time. The last 15 years were spent with her best friend Ruben Lua. Herlinda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, and brothers Juan Manuel Jasso and Gustavo Jasso. She is survived by her daughters Leonor Weese (Alva), Maria Huerta (Phillip), Alicia Jaramillo (Joe), Roseanna Childress (Darren) and son Richard Fierro. Herlinda will be missed by her 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Services will be held with a viewing at 4 p.m., October 23, 2023 with Rosary following at 6 p.m. at Dignity Chapel. Graveside services with internment will be Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 12 p.m. at Visalia Cemetery with a reception immediately following at the Visalia Veterans Hall on Center Street.
Herlina also leaves numerous family and friends to cherish her memory.
