Herman Max Barber was born on August 29, 1927 in Muskegon, Michigan to Sigmund and Ida (Kramer) Barber. He passed away on February 20, 2011 in Dinuba, California at the age of 83. Herman grew up in San Francisco. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy. Following the navy, he served proudly as a San Francisco firefighter for almost 20 years. He moved to Visalia with his family in 1971. He is survived by his wife, Verna, his son, David, his daughter, Jennifer (Cameron), his grandson, Anthony, and his great-grandchildren, Jonah and Mallory McLaughlin. He also survived by his sister, Evelyn Benas, and nephew, Daniel Benas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Maria. Services will be private.
