Jack R. Reed

Visalia - Jack Roger Reed, 88, of Visalia, CA died May 6th, 2022 with family at his side, in his home of 47 years. Jack was born December 25, 1933 in Jayton, Texas to Dovie Lula Hicks and Earl Reed. He graduated from Exeter Union High School June 4, 1952. Jack enlisted in the United States Air Force out of Fresno, CA and operated across the world. While serving in Japan he met his future wife of 65 years, Rieko Sakamoto. He served honorably for 22 and a half years, retiring July 31, 1975 an E-7 Master Sergeant, as First Sergeant of the 4392nd Security Police Squadron out of Vandenberg AFB. He married Rieko (Tammy) Reed, May 10, 1957. After retiring from the Air Force, Jack worked another 22 and a half years for the United States Post Office in Visalia. He was happiest outside in the sun, tending his yard, swimming, or barbequing. He loved to travel and spend time with friends and family. He is survived by wife Rieko, sons Danny and Stephen, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that monetary donations be made to Neighborhood Church in Visalia, CA
