In loving memory of our father Jerry Ray Rhodes, who passed away at the Open Arms Hospice House, in Visalia, on September 26th of this year. He is preceded in death by both of his parents and his older brothers, Ernest and Earl Rhodes. He was survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Rhodes, who passed two months later. He is also survived by his older sister Betty Reeves, and both of his sons, Mark and Phillip Rhodes and their wives Sandy and Nicole along with their granddaughters, Sarah, Diana, and Haley. Jerry was born on Aug 29th 1939, in Rocky Ford , Colorado, to Elizabeth and Ernest Rhodes. The family then packed up and moved to Ivanhoe Ca, when he was 4 years old. They purchased 20 acres of land and started a family farm, where he grew up the typical country boy. He attended Redwood High School, where he played freshman baseball, before breaking his leg. He graduated from high school in 1957, and then went on to graduate from UC Davis. During the same time he was serving his county in the Air National Guard. After leaving the military, he then married his love, Patricia, on May 1st 1965. Jerry worked for the county of Tulare, then was a ranch manager in Snelling Ca, then was a pest control advisor, before settling on his nursery business on the family farm. Jerry and his son Mark ran the business for over 40 years, moving olive trees all over the state. The business became his passion for so many years. It was hard for him to stop working, when finally pressed by his sons to stop working at 82 years old and stay home to care for his wife Patricia. Jerry had a passion for discussing politics, which those who knew him would understand. His other passion was his traveling dog companions, you would never see him without them. After a long life of hard work he will be laid to rest along with his wife Patricia. Together forever.
