Joan Castle, 59, of Visalia, California passed away on June 27, 2022. Joan was born in Manchester, Iowa on September 7th, 1962. She was a graduate of Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA with a Certified Medical Assistant Degree. She worked in the medical field until 1991 before becoming a full-time mother of three boys, which was her most proud accomplishment.
Joan will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity. Family meant everything to Joan. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She recently found so much joy in spending time with her three grandchildren and grand dogs. Joan was an avid and very talented gardener. You could most often find her in her backyard, tending to her many beautiful flowers & succulents and admiring the hummingbirds.
Joan is survived by her husband of 38 years, Vince Castle of Visalia, CA; son and spouse, Greg and Anna Castle and their son William of Grand Rapids, MI; son and spouse, Eric and Maegan Castle and their daughter Kenleigh and son Landon of Santa Maria, CA; son and fiancé, Ben Castle and Maddie Guest of Seattle, WA; her siblings: Robert (Carol) Engelken of Center Point, IA, Richard (Rhonda) Engelken of Greensburg, KS, Roger Engelken of Dyersville, IA, Rose (Herb) Greider of Dauphin, PA, Gerri Schlotfeldt of Marion, IA, Mary Sleichter of Iowa City, IA, Susan (Eric) Peterson of Lake City, IA, Shirley (Kent) Wilson of Marion, IA, Paul (Susan) Engelken of Woodward, IA and Carl (Debbie) Engelken of Warrens, WI. She is also survived by her brother-in-laws Dan (Terri) Castle of Green, IA, Kevin Castle of Solon, IA and sister-in-law Ann Castle of Minneapolis, MN and many nieces and nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Hugo & Catherine (Lansing) Engelken and parent’s in-law Ralph & Francis Castle.
She will be deeply missed and always remembered.
