

Wine and Spirits Salesman
John R. Maranian went to be with the Lord in Heaven on_June 24, 2013, after a long battle with metastasized melanoma cancer. John was born to Garabed and Agnes Maranian in Fresno, on August 8, 1943. He attended Fresno High School and Fresno City College. He served in the U. S. Army from 1963 to 1966. He and his wife Carol moved to Visalia in 1979. He worked as a wine and spirits salesman for Berberian Bros. based in Fresno, taking care of Visalia and many of the surrounding towns. He remained in this capacity when Berberian Bros. was sold to Youngs Market Company, based in Los Angeles, Ca.
John was active in St. Mary's Armenian Apostolic Church in Yettem. He taught children's Bible Classes and also served several terms on the St. Mary's Board of Trustees.
John is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Carol Maranian, John's brother Ray Maranian of Fresno, Ca., John's brother and sister-in-law Jack and Mary Lou Maranian of Torrance, Ca., John's sister and brother-in-law Charlotte and Charlie Fanucchi of Bakersfield, Ca., John's brother and sister-in-law Harry and Sharen Maranian of Clovis Ca. and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
