John was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on February 20, 1968 to Marlene and Irene (Tito) Torres. He served four years in the Marine Corps and is a veteran of Desert Storm. He married Elizabeth Torres in July 1991 in Covina, California. They had a home built in Visalia, California in 2001 which became their permanent residence for their family. He worked as a Correctional Officer for the California State Prison System at Salinas Valley, CSATF, and Kern Valley for 17 years. John was renown for his countless drug busts and even wrote a book where he shared his knowledge of searching in “Searching Techniques and Tactics”. By far his most memorable qualities are his unique sense of humor and his unwavering desire to help people; even complete strangers. John always lived his life to the fullest and had a very loud, yet warming personality. John will be greatly missed by his family and those who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his two sons Johnny and Eric Torres, his wife Elizabeth Torres, Mother and Father Tito and Marlene Torres, sister Lisa Torres and Brother Paulie Torres and many family and friends.
