Joseph Mario Graziani, 83, peacefully passed away in the arms of his family December 11, 2013. Though born in Inyo County, CA, he spent much of his childhood in Visalia. After serving his country in the Army he began a long career with the Southern Pacific Railroad, where he worked his way up from a freight clerk to Vice President. Throughout his career, from blue collar to executive office, he was best known for his integrity. He retired in 1990.
Joe married Virginia Jeter in 1957, a close marriage that endured 56 years.
Beyond the many places they went together, his heart and love remained in the running waters of the Kings River, the grandeur of Sierra Mountains and having a fishing pole in hand.
Joe is survived by his wife, Virginia... three children, Steve Graziani, Kim Graziani and Risa Collings... four grandchildren, Travis Graziani, Risa Peterson, Jessica Peterson and Brandy Peterson... three step granddaughters, Angel Trzepacz, Teresa Collings and Jessica Korman... and eleven great grandchildren. Of his nine brothers and sisters, Violet Sequeira and Julio Graziani survive him. Additionally, a bevy of relatives and long-term friends will lovingly remember and miss him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue, Visalia, CA. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 9 a.m. at the Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Avenue, Visalia, CA.
