

Julia Mae Gennoe died peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2015. She was born in Glendale, CA on December 17, 1931 to Harm (Harvey) F. Brockhohn and Martha Pearl Krigbaum. She was raised and educated in Glendale, attending Herbert Hoover High School until family moved to Lindsay, CA in 1947.
Julia married Bobby Leo Jones on January 1, 1949 and on May 5, 1973 she married Burges Gennoe.
During her life she worked in the medical field, working at Exeter District Hospital while earning her degree in nursing from Fresno City College and Fresno State University. She moved back to Visalia and worked at Visalia Community Hospital as Director of Nurses. Julia went on to be Home Health Nurse at Hillman Health Clinic in Tulare where she did follow up medical visits with her patients. Julia had a true passion for nursing all her life. She is remembered to be a very compassionate person and was highly thought of.
Julia loved art. She did oil painting, sculpted, glass work, sewing, knitting, and was an avid reader. Julia especially enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed times spent with her grandchildren teaching them to swim.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Harvey; her brother William Bennet Brockholm and her son Joseph Guy Jones.
She is survived by her children, James Robert Jones and Cheryl Diane Butts, both of Visalia, Sandra Lynn Goerzen of Tulare; Michael Wayne Jones from Tuckerman, AR; four stepchildren, Terry Gennoe, Ina Gennoe-Montes, Gary Gennoe and Charles Gennoe; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; sister, Martie Johnson of Visalia.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 9 am at the Visalia District Cemetery Heritage Chapel, 1300 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia.
