

Leon Phillip Burns “Phil”, 71, of Dinuba, CA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Phil was born on January 13, 1949 in Los Angeles, California, to George Frederick Burns and Annie LaVada Boggs.
Phil worked in the trucking industry as a truck driver for over 40 years. He enjoyed meeting and visiting with fellow truck drivers and friends at truck stops. He logged over a 2 million miles during his trucking career using the CB handle Fresno Flyer.
He was affectionately known to his family as Papa, Big Daddy, Teddy Bear and Lumberjack.
Some of Phil's hobbies included fishing, going to stock car races, and tractor pulls. He was infatuated with classic cars and trucks and he loved going to the casinos.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Glenda Burns; Brother, Stanley Burns; Daughter, Lisa Burns Watson; Son, Charlie Neal; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren with one on the way due in March 2021. Not to mention numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, George Frederick Burns and Annie LaVada Boggs Burns; his brother James Frederick Burns; his nephew Alex Burns; and his niece Rebecca Burns.
A celebration of life will be held once we are no longer suffering from social distancing limitations. Phil Burns lived large, laughed often, and rode strong. He’ll be lovingly remembered and missed immensely. The angels better be ready for him!
