

Lester Dean Heinrichs was born to Jacob and Sara Heinrichs in Canton, Kansas at home, delivered by his aunts. The family moved to Dinuba, California in 1939 when he was seven. He attended Grandview elementary school and Immanuel High School. After high school he went to work in Ukiah, California where he met the love of his life Marie Carter. They married on February 11th 1956. They welcomed their first child Darrell, followed by Keith, Deanne and Arlene.
He worked at Sears Roebuck, and S.E. Rykoff and then he ran his own restaurant and kitchen supply store, Fesco of Visalia. He was a member of the church counsel, a Deacon, youth sponsor and church kitchen designer at Neighborhood Mennonite Brethren Church. He had a servant’s heart and was a mentor in many people’s lives. He loved being with his family, grandkids and great grandkids, going to ball games and teaching them his skills including woodworking and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his son Darrell Heinrichs. Survived by his wife Marie, son Keith (Denise) , daughters Deanne, and Arlene Dodge (Allan), 10 grandchildren, April Caywood (Greg), Jamie Ellenberger (Jim), Luke, Jacob (Koreena), Zachary (Stevie), Rachel (Adam) Feldkamp, Samuel (Claire) Heinrichs. Trevor (Ashlyn), Trent (Jonna), Ty, Trey Dodge, and 13 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Les loved the Sequoia’s, you can honor him by planting trees in his memorial grove in the Sequoia National Forest. Les's trees will help restore the beauty of the forest and will be a living tribute to him for years to come.
