STORY: Lonny E. McElmurry was born in Muskogee, OK and passed away in Visalia, CA on November 25, 2011, at the age of 66. He came to CA as an infant and grew up in Exeter. He lived in Visalia until he joined the U.S. Navy, and was a Vietnam Veteran and sailed on the USS Coral Sea.

He was a member of the Black Knights. He enjoyed watching the drag races and fishing in Morro Bay.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carmen; step son Joe Medrano, step daughter Genie Garza; grandchildren Cori Garza, Joey Medrano, Jr., Jenifer and Nathan Ramirez. He is also survived by two brothers, and three sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 3pm until 5pm. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 3:00pm at Miller Memorial Chapel.
