Margaret Morales, born October 23, 1935, in California, passed away on June 2, 2026, at the age of 90. A beloved and cherished presence to all who knew her, she will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection for a life marked by devotion, generosity, honesty, and a steady, kind-hearted thoughtfulness that placed others first.
Known lovingly as Margie, she was the second to the youngest of eight children, growing up alongside two brothers and five sisters. From the beginning, family was the center of her world, and that devotion only deepened as her life unfolded.
Margie was a devoted wife for 73 years, having married her high school sweetheart, Sal Morales, on July 15, 1952. Shortly after their marriage, they moved from the central valley to Los Angeles, where together they raised their three children. Her love extended across generations, and she was also dearly loved by six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren—each one a testament to the family she helped nurture with selfless care and unwavering steadiness.
In her working life, Margie brought the same reliability and integrity that defined her character. She worked at various Mom and Pop stores and later retired from Heavenly Choice in Montebello as a Sales manager, a role that suited her natural warmth with people and her thoughtful attention to detail. It was there, too, that she was able to fulfill a special joy—her love for Betty Boop collectables—an interest that became one of the signatures of her life and personality.
Margie’s energy and spirit also shone through in the activities she loved. In her teens and twenties, she enjoyed playing softball and competed on traveling women’s leagues as a pitcher. She later played co-ed softball with her husband and family as a catcher, bringing the same devoted teamwork to recreation that she brought to every part of life. She was, as well, an extraordinary Betty Boop collector, a passion that reflected her distinctive style and the delight she found in the things she loved.
A devoted Catholic, Margie attended Mass every Sunday at St. Benedict's Church in Montebello until she moved to Visalia and began attending St. Mary's Catholic Church. Her faith was not simply practiced, but lived—expressed through quiet generosity, sincere care, and a steadfast willingness to show up for others with compassion and grace.
Margie will be remembered for her unwavering kindness and for always putting others before herself. She was an incredible listener, adviser, “prayer warrior,” and fashionista. She taught those around her the value of loving unconditionally, leaving a legacy not only in her family, but in the countless everyday moments where her honesty, gentleness, and selfless strength made life better for others.
Margie resided in Visalia, California. She is survived by her spouse, Sal E. Morales.
The family would like to thank Gentiva hospice and all their staff that helped with her care. You are all a blessing.
“Nani, we would give anything for one more phone call ‘Is Mikey gonna feed the dog?’, one more ‘Where’s Sal?’ Or even a ‘Who’s in the Back?’ You don’t have to worry about any of that because you’re in Heaven looking down on us, and you will always know... We love you Nani, not a day will go by that you are not missed! ‘Goodbye is not forever: Farewell is not the end. It simply means I’ll miss you until we meet again.’”
