Margaret Ann Thatcher

Margaret Ann Thatcher, 83, was born on February 16, 1943, in California, and passed away on July 24, 2026. A lifelong resident of Visalia, California, Margaret will be remembered with deep respect for a life marked by quiet resilience, unwavering faith, and devoted love for her family.

Margaret “Margie” “Meg” Ann Thatcher was born and raised in Visalia. After raising her two children, she returned to school to earn her Medical Assisting diploma and teaching credential, reflecting her determination and commitment to providing for her family’s future. She went on to enjoy a fulfilling career teaching at San Joaquin Valley College before retiring.

Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn Thatcher. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Christina and Jeffrey (Karen); her grandchildren, Teresa, Brett, Benjamin, Vincent, Tiffany, and Jennifer; their spouses; and her many great-grandchildren.

Margie had a lifelong love for animals and opened her heart and home to countless pets over the years, caring for each with the same patience, kindness, and devotion that she showed to everyone she loved.

A faithful member of what is now known as Gateway Church (formerly First Baptist Church), Margie attended from childhood until earlier this year. Her faith was evident not through grand gestures, but through a lifetime of steadfast devotion and faithful presence.

One of Margie’s greatest joys was bringing her family together for Thanksgiving and Christmas. She lovingly prepared every meal herself and decorated with exceptional care, creating warm and welcoming celebrations that became treasured family traditions. She also never missed an opportunity to capture those moments with her camera, preserving memories that her family will cherish for generations.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Open Arms Hospice for the compassion, kindness, and exceptional care they provided to our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother during her final days.

A graveside service will be held at Visalia Public Cemetery District, 1300 West Goshen Avenue, Visalia, California, on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Margie was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Though our hearts grieve her absence, we find comfort in God’s promise and look forward to the day we will see her again.
