Marifi was born in Olongapo City, Philippines on May 13, 1974 to Fortunato Collado Mirador and Marina Ravanta Johnson. Her family moved to the United States when she was 7, settling in Lemoore, California. She was raised and educated in Lemoore, graduating from Lemoore High School in 1993. She continued her education at Fresno State University, received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1997. On May 1, 1999, Marifi married Darin Alexander Preisendorf in Lemoore. She worked as an Interior Designer for a few years, but soon after the birth of their first child she realized her passion was to be Mom. They have made their home in Livermore, Discovery Bay, Merced, Stockton and settled in Visalia in 2007. Marifi went back to work locally at Cal Bennett’s for a couple years, but her passion to be Mom was again too strong.
Marifi enjoyed volunteering at their kids’ school, Oak Grove, camping with family and friends, shopping and traveling. But most of all loved spending quality time with family and friends, anytime, anywhere. Marifi had an infectious smile and made friends with everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Marifi leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Darin; three beautiful children, Malia, Kai and Brody; her father Fortunato; her mother Marina; two sisters Michelle and Mary Beth and many cousins and extended family members as well as many friends.
Marifi requested in lieu of flowers, please donate to the children’s scholarship funds. Donations can be made at any EECU Branch or mailed to EECU, PO Box 5242, Fresno, CA 93755. Checks payable to the Marifi Preisendorf Memorial Fund, account #1225884. She also said, “I don’t want people mourning me wearing all black, I want it to be colorful, Shorts and Flip Flops are fine.”
