Mary Rodriguez Gonzales

Mary Rodriguez Gonzales, 73, of Visalia, California, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Born on February 4, 1949, in Riverside, California, to Leovardo and Isabel Rodriguez, Mary was a beacon of strength and love in the lives of everyone who knew her.

Mary dedicated over 40 years to the agriculture industry as a farm laborer and homecare provider. Later, she made a significant impact working with Woodlake Unified School District, where she was known for her dedication and warm heart. Her hardworking nature and unwavering commitment to her family and community were truly inspiring.

Mary had a deep love for gardening, finding joy and peace in nurturing her plants. She was an exceptional cook, whose kitchen was always filled with delicious aromas and love. One of her talents was sewing, and she created beautiful traditional costumes for her son’s Folklorico dreams. Mary's love for life extended to simple pleasures, like taking long drives, watching her novelas, reading, spending time at the casino, and cherishing the companionship of her beloved dog, Neela.

Mary's greatest pride and joy were her two sons, John and Jesus Gonzales, both of Visalia. As a single mother, she poured her heart and soul into raising them with unconditional love. They carry forward her legacy of love, resilience, and kindness.

She is preceded in death by her father, Leovardo Rodriguez, her mother, Isabel Rodriguez, and her four siblings: Abundio Rodriguez, Frances Rodriguez Ramirez, Raymond Rodriguez, and Augustine Rodriguez. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who loved them.

On Friday, July 12, 2024, Mary was laid to rest by her loving sons at the Woodlake Public Cemetery. Her spirit, love, and the lessons she imparted will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends.

Mary Rodriguez Gonzales was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, cherished friend, and a remarkable woman whose legacy of love and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
