Mercy Bertoldo Bertoldo Gonzales

Mercy was born in San Jose, Arizona on September 24, 1918 to Primativo and Teresa Bertoldo. Her parents moved to Visalia when she was just a little girl, where she was raised and educated. She Married Larry Angel Gonzales on August 22, 1937 in Visalia, California and they celebrated 55 years together before his passing on March 20, 1993. Mercy was a longtime member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and her visits to the casino. Mercy was well known for “Mercy’s Macaroni” and her delicious homemade tortillas. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Gloria on August 1, 1956. Mercy will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew and loved her.

Mercy leaves to cherish her memory, her loving son, Greg Gonzales and wife, Jan of Visalia, CA and her daughter, Helen Leggett and husband, Jim of Arizona; three sisters, Helen Weber of Visalia, CA, Vicki Velasco of Turlock, CA and Angie Gonzales of Visalia, CA; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia, CA on Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 3 – 6 p.m. with Recitation of Rosary to follow at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church of Visalia on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 12 Noon..
