

Millicent was born in Wenatchee, WA. Her parents were Hardin and Lucille James. She graduated from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1944. She served her country as a First Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps stationed in Guam for two years during WWII. Following the war, she worked as a nurse in San Francisco where she met her husband, John Allen Williamson. After their marriage in 1946, they moved to Visalia, where John worked in the family business, Brook’s Funeral Home. Their marriage lasted 25 years and produced 5 children.
Millie lived a very busy life herding her five children along with dogs, cats, pigeons and the family rabbit. She was an active parent participant in Visalia schools. There were many wonderful family memories from summer vacations in Cayucos. She joined St. Paul’s Church in 1949 and her service included leadership in the Altar Guild, various committees, and summer camp nurse at Camp San Joaquin. In the late ‘60’s she returned to her career as a RN working for the County Hospital and Kaweah Delta District Hospital. She went on to become a Public Health Nurse and worked as a school nurse for Tulare County Office of Education.
In 1976, she married Jack B. Moody and resided for a time in Solvang. They came back to Visalia where she continued as a school nurse for TCOE until retirement after 18 years. She is past President with CA Nurses Assn, volunteer with Tulare County Hospice, member of AAUW, NEA and Sequoia Garden Club.
Millie is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, John Williamson and Jack Moody, and son, John B. Williamson. She is survived by sons Marc (Sandy) Williamson and Dean (Lenore) Williamson and daughters, Brooke (Dennis) Mack and Lea (Jerry) Blumenschein. Five grandchildren – Alisha Pangburn, Erin Fox, Katie Padilla, John Williamson and Lane Williamson and seven great-grandchildren, Morgan and Kendall Pangburn, Cayla, Kyle, and Brooklyn Fox, Joaquin and Millie Padilla.
Millie spent last year of her life at TLC Assisted Living where she received excellent, loving care.
The memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church at 120 N. Hall at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to St. Paul’s Anglican Church.
