Neal Jordan passed away September 18, 2013 in Bakersfield, CA surrounded by family. He was born in St. Louis, Oklahoma on December 20, 1923 to Roy H. and Cordie Patrick Jordan. He attended a small country school playing basketball, football, baseball, and drove a school bus his senior year. After graduation in June of 1943 he joined the United States Air Force training at Ft. Sill, Okahoma and then drove truck transporting personnel, airplane equipment and parts. Neal served in France, Germany and Belgium during the war. On January 6, 1946 he was discharged. There were no jobs in Oklahoma so he and his brother came to California. He worked for Southern California Gas Company from 1956 to 1986. Neal and JoAnne did a lot of traveling in their motor home, fishing and visiting family in many states. He also enjoyed golfing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Iona Clower and his brother Roland.
Neal is survived by his wife, JoAnne of 40 years; a brother Dwight (Evelyn),daughters Sandra Campbell (Roger), Debra Henry (Donald), Karin Manuele (Steve) sons Earl Baker (Loraine) Bruce Baker (Debbie) 13 grand children,13 great grandchildren many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 3 – 6 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia, CA. Memorial services will be held at First Christian Church, 1023 N. Chinowith in Visalia. Burial will be private.
