He is preceded in death by his parents, Archie Halls, Beverly (Jones) Vouriotis and husband John, and sister Nancy Hutchinson.
Peter is survived by life partner, Teresa Day; brother, Dr. Gregory Halls; and sister, Pam Dietz. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces and nephews, along with their spouses and children and many friends. They will all miss his great sense of humor and the many stories he told.
Peter, 62, was born in Augusta, Maine to Archibald Halls and Beverly Jones. When Peter was 3, his mother remarried, and Peter became the stepson of John Vouriotis. Peter worked for his step-father who owned a concession stand for many years on Coney Island, N.Y. This experience provided Peter with a lifetime of fascinating memories and stories.
Upon graduation from high school, Peter enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he proudly served his country and witnessed the end of the Vietnam War era. Peter worked for 30 years in the plastics industry. For the last 15 years, he worked at NDS and distinguished himself as an innovator, mentor and greatly respected coworker.
An avid outdoorsman, Peter loved Yosemite and the solitude of the desert and open starry skys. He spoke often and very fondly of his love for his desert home in Kingman, AZ.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at Brandon-Mitchell Art Gallery, 117 Locust Street in Visalia on July 7th, 2018 from 1 pm to 3 pm.
