I've recently been thinking about my Granddad and his life quite a bit.  I have returned from a trip where I visited the cemetery in Camden New York where his father and grandfather Curtiss were buried.  We also stopped to see Curtis Publishing in Philadelphia where he had a job as a young man.  We spent some time catching up with my cousin Di his niece while in New Jersey as well.  It all makes me wonder a great deal about the details in between that ultimately led him to become the man he was in his final days.  I miss him a lot and I am so thankful that he was around to teach me how to talk to people I barely know, something I have been trying to teach my own son.    I imagine him in heaven tending to a fire in the fire place while playing a game of gin with my Grandmom and some friends around the kitchen table talking and laughing.  Wherever you are Granddad, I hope you are well.

We extend an invitation to the graveside service on May 4th at 9 am at the Visalia Cemetary and then to join us for a time of remembrance at Quail Park's Oak Room following. I remember Dick first as a square dance caller in the 1950's.  My parents belonged to many of the same square dance clubs and the get-togethers were frequent and fun for all.  Recently when Dick moved to Quail Park (where my Dad also now lives), it was a treat to get reacquainted when we were in town.  Terry - we will be sure to stop in to see you next time we are in Visalia.  Our most sincere consolensces to you Cathy and Steve.  Ron and Sheila Bohard

Wow..what a nice long life for such a special man. One of my Mom and Dad's favorite friends. Actually they were "Family Friends" He and Phyllis opened up their home to all of us as a safe haven during the great Visalia flood. Such a special man.
