Richard Firman Weinert

Our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Richard F. Weinert, entered The Heavenly Kingdom on June 29, 2016. With his wife Mary J. Weinert and family by his side he drew his last breath.

Richard was born on Sept. 25, 1926 in Visalia, CA to George G. Weinert and Vincenta J. Lotito-Weinert. He married Mary J. Salazar “the girl next door” in December 3, 1949. They were happily married for 65 years.

Richard is survived by his son Robert Weinert, wife Anita, grandchildren Lisa Ortiz, husband Hector, grandson Christopher Weinert and grandson Robert Weinert Jr., great-grandchildren: Marissa, Hector, Mary Ortiz, Richard Weinert and numerous nephews and nieces.

Richard served in the Merchant Marines and United States Army in WWII where he received various medals. In 1950 he began working for the City of Visalia, he worked for the city for forty one years, and retired as an Engineering Tech.

Richard is proceeded in death by parents George and Vincenta Weinert, son, Roger G. Weinert, Brother George Weinert Jr., and grandson Roger “Bo” Weinert.

Visitation will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Ave., Visalia on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 4:00 pm with Rosary at 6:00 pm. Interment and Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 10:00 at Visalia Public Cemetery District.
