Our beloved mother, Rita Gomez, passed away on January 31, 2025, at the age of 91. Rita was born on April 23, 1933, to Roque Campos and Rosa (Lopez) Campos. She was born, raised, and educated in Visalia, California. She married Lucio Perez Gomez of Visalia on September 24, 1960. Rita is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Marcelino Reyes of Norwalk, Felix Reyes and David Campos of Visalia, and Raymond Anderson of El Monte. She is survived by her husband Lucio, her sister Julia Ynigues of Visalia, her children Rachel Ann Gomez, Manuel Lucio Gomez, Gabriel Gomez of Visalia, and Stephen Gomez (Rita Leija) of Petaluma, as well as her grandchildren Stephen Lucio Gomez, Alexander Joshua Gomez, Benjamin Gabriel Gomez, and Gabriella Jean Gomez of Petaluma.
Rita helped many families by caring for their children in her home, leaving lasting impressions on numerous parents and children. She was cherished by many and will be greatly missed. Rita enjoyed working on puzzles, crocheting, listening to her favorite music, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was the kindest soul and would not hesitate to help those in need.
Visitation will be held on February 20, 2025, from 8 am to 9:30 am at Miller Memorial Chapel in Visalia, California. A graveside service will follow at 10 am at Visalia Cemetery. In lieu of fl owers, donations may be made to Bristol Hospice, and we would like to thank all the nurses and staff who cared for Rita and her family.
