“Freedom!” My mother would say with her arm raised high each time she stepped out of the house. She loved going out to eat and socializing with family and friends. She loved any rice. I will always remember her homemade tortillas, her ability to make me fall asleep by running her fingers through my hair or patting me on the back as she hummed a song. But most of all, I will always remember her self-confidence. Her true nature. She was her own person. Music playing as she did her housework. Her music was what made me want to learn a second language. My first word, “Chale”-taught by her.
These images will always be in my heart. Enjoy your freedom Mom in God’s paradise.

Sorry to hear that my late mom Rachel only surviving sibling passed away. She was always nice to me I have nothing bad to say about my auntie. When her and Danny lived in Huntington Beach I stayed with them and they would always take me to the beach and buy me a toy. Rosie your soul returns to the universe along with all of your deceased siblings and grandma Maria and grandpa Jose Dorado.
