Rosita was born September 6th, 1957, in Visalia CA, to Leopoldo and Maria Torres. She was a 1975 graduate of Redwood High School in Visalia CA. Rosita later married and divorced Eleno Villanueva, but together they had two children who she is survived by Jacob Villanueva and Janaya Sam along with their spouses Dena and Jeremie. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Jeremie Sam Jr, Joseph Sam, Sawyere Villanueva, and Aalyssa Stanley. In addition, Rosita is survived by her family: her sister Patsy Pena and husband David, Dorinda Torres, Emily Torres, and Brothers Leopoldo Torres, Gilbert Torres along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Rosita spent most of her career working for the State of California and retired from the Department of Water Resources. Rosita was known to be a very dedicated and hard worker when it came to her career and aspirations. She showed that same dedication to her family and friends and would put them above all else. To her, family and friends were the most important part of her life and she would be the person to give the clothes off her back if any were in need. Rosita was the most loving, caring, understanding, faithful, compassionate, non-judgmental, and jubilant person. It was said that her smile and laughter could brighten up anybody’s day. While it is sad and hard to realize that she has left us from this earth, we should seek joy knowing that she has risen as an angel and found herself embraced by the loving hands of God and those who are waiting for her in Heaven.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Rosita touched are invited to the Saint Mary’s Catholic Church 608 N. Church St., Visalia, CA 93291 on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 10:00am for Mass Service.
