After a two-week struggle with CoVID, Saul passed away, on June 15, 2021, at the age of 85. He was born November 11, 1935, in Detroit Michigan.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Linda Salmon (maiden Lennon); three sons, Saul B. Salmon of Merced, CA, Cory Salmon of Pleasant Hill, CA, and Serafin Salmon of Santa Barbara, CA, and one daughter, Tina Salmon, Visalia, CA; eight grandchildren, Michael Luzania Jr, Marisa Rios, Micaela Luzania, Leticia Mora, Casey Salmon, Jacob Salmon, Olivia Salmon and Hanah Salmon; 12 great grandchildren, Deserina Jurado, Marianita, Cerena, Isabel Mora; Zachariyah Nava, Lariszah Serrano, Maliyah, Eszariyah, Eliyahsz Milan; Kali and Ronin Luzania; and Aaliyah K. Salmon; one great-great granddaughter, Yazmin; his only sister, Sylvia Ross of Warren, Michigan; one nephew, Alexander Silva Sr. of Sterling Heights, Michigan; three great nephews, Alex Silva Jr, of Shelby Township, Dwight Silva of Chicago, Illinois and David Silva of Sterling Heights, Michigan.
Saul was preceded in death by his parents, Harry G & Micaela B Salmon; in-laws, Paul and Emma Lennon; and daughter-in-law, Kirsten Salmon.
After attending Western High School in Detroit, MI., he joined the Air Force at age 17, in 1952, during the Korean War. He proudly served 20 years, retiring as a Master Sgt. He also worked another 20 years for the Social Security Administration in Tulare and Kings County.
On May 23, 1980, Saul received an Associate in Arts degree at Porterville College, Porterville, California.
During Saul's time in the Military and Civil Service he receive many Medals, Certificates and Awards. He made sure he stayed busy with his many activities: Golfing, Dancing, Traveling, and was even on a Senior Softball team and traveled to tournaments in Utah, Sacramento and Las Vegas, going to movies at Fox Theater, concerts and almost never missed his Friday 'Lunch with the Guys'. He made time to faithfully visit his wife, 2-3 days a week in a nursing home.
A visitation for Saul will be held Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 West Goshen Ave, Visalia, CA 93291. Followed by Rosary at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Friday, July 2, 2021 at 9:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 608 N. Church Street, Visalia, CA 93291, followed by interment will at Visalia Public Cemetery District, 1300 W. Goshen Avenue, Visalia, CA 93291, with a potluck reception following services.
Remembrances, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Alzheimer Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601, because Saul's wife suffers with advance Dementia.
