Shirley was born in Prescott, Kansas on May 27, 1939 to loving parents, Claude Eugene and Anna Belle Roberts Cure. She graduated from Lemoore High School with the Class of 1957. On July 16, 1957, Shirley married W. C. Donaldson in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home and raised their children in Armona, California. He passed away on December 27, 1991 and was laid to rest at Grangeville Cemetery. Shirley remained in Armona, California until 2008 when she moved to Visalia with her family.
Shirley enjoyed quilting, drawing and oil painting. She was a wonderful seamstress and made all of her daughter’s clothes and many clothes for their Barbie dolls as they were growing up. Shirley cherished her grandchildren and the many memories made together. They were the highlight of her life and brought her much joy.
Shirley fought hard and loved harder. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Anna Belle Cure, her grandson, Zachary Indendi and granddaughter, Riley Burkett.
She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Swaim and Carrie Indendi and husband Ed Holley, all of Visalia; her brother, Buster Cure of Idaho; her sisters, Joann Yelkin of Santee, CA and Sue Ward of Hanford, CA; two grandchildren, Brandon Swaim and wife Courtney and Caitlyn Indendi along with two very special great grandchildren Levi and Carter Swaim.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Grangeville Cemetery, 10428 14th Avenue in Armona, CA.
