

Stephen Robert Yaeger passed away at his home in Porterville, California on February 20, 2014 following a long courageous battle with brain cancer. Stephen was born on October 24, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Mary Lee Yaeger. He moved to San Gabriel, California as a young child, eventually moving to Lindsay, California as a teenager. He spent the remainder of his life in the Porterville area.
Stephen graduated from Lindsay High School in 1969. He became a psychiatric technician and worked at Porterville Developmental Center for many years. While working, he went to Bakersfield College and became a registered nurse. Stephen was then employed by Kaweah Delta Home Health Agency until he retired in 2011.
During his free time, Stephen enjoyed working on his cars, reading science fiction books, and gardening. His greatest joy was spending time with family, especially his young granddaughter. His positive attitude and winning smile will be missed by all.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Donna Yaeger; his son, Andrew Yaeger, both of Porterville, California; stepson, Bryan Boling of Atlanta, Georgia; step-daughter, Amanda Boling of South Lake Tahoe, California; and grandchild, Adalynn Simpson. He is also survived by his brothers, John Yaeger of Terra Bella, California, Jim Yaeger of Visalia, California , Dan Yaeger of Colfax, California; and David Yaeger of Orlando, Florida.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Lee Yaeger and his daughter, Anatia Renee Yaeger.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Porterville, California. A reception will be held immediately following at his home in Porterville.
