California resident, Subbarao Doijode, 80, peacefully passed away in his sleep on November 29, 2020 at his home in Visalia. Strong-willed and fiercely independent, Subbarao was born in 1940 in a small village in India. Having lived through a famine, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life - a good meal, and Indian sweets. First in his family to even graduate from high school, he went on to become a mechanical engineer, and retired after a successful career in a machine tool manufacturing company. He is survived by his wife, four sons, and several grandchildren.
