WEST COLUMBIA - William Monroe Rogers, 87, of West Columbia, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019. He was born in Savannah, GA on October 16, 1931, the son of the late Jess Rogers and Betty Lynn Neal Rogers. Monroe was a member the Platt Springs United Methodist Church in West Columbia and was a lover of sports.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Ervin Rogers; son, Al Timmons (Vera); daughter, Liz Timmons; grandsons, Zachary and Joshua Timmons; brother, Ray Rogers and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and sisters, Harry, Neal Sharpe, Marion Bolin and Nan Stafford.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Platt Springs United Methodist Church with entombment in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Platt Springs United Methodist Church, 3215 Platt Springs Rd., West Columbia, SC 29170.
