Billie Hutton Haynes

WEST COLUMBIA - Funeral services for Billie Hutton Haynes, 93, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with entombment in Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Steve Kittrell will conduct the services.

Mr. Haynes was born August 6, 1920 in Summerfield, NC and passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014. He was a son of the late Carl Blackburn Haynes and Jewell Williams Haynes. He attended Laurel Baptist Church. Mr. Haynes served his country during World War II as a Navigator and retired from the United States Air Force Reserve as a LT. Col. He also retired from NCR after 40 plus years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Foster Haynes and children, Robert C. Haynes, Terry A. Haynes (Virginia), Debra H. Bass (John), Kenneth L. Haynes (Katrina) and Sandra Lynn Tutton (Daryl); 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and brother, Robert Haynes (Libby). He was predeceased by his parents, siblings, Annie Haynes, C.B. Haynes, Jr., Estherbelle H. Goolsby, Mary H. Angel, Jewell H. Dallas, Oscar Haynes and Carlene H. Jones.
