Billie Jackson

LEXINGTON – Funeral service for Billie Joyce Ellisor Rose Jackson, 81, of Lexington will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church of Pelion with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens. Pastor Steve Young will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church of Pelion, 249 New Hope Church Rd., Pelion, SC 29123 and American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.

Pallbearers are, D. J. Thompson, James and Austin Woods, Jody Swygert, Jesse Carwell, Donny Hudson, Wesley and Brian Hartzog. Mrs. Jackson was born August 11, 1934 in Columbia, SC and passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016. She was a daughter of the late John Daniel Ellisor and Cleola Hall Ellisor Rose. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Pelion, WMU and the Choir. She was also a member of SC Employee Association and TOPS.

Billie worked for DHEC in the Laboratory Records for 25+ years.

Mrs. Jackson was survived by her children, Brenda Y. Hartzog, Vonda E. Fish, Marsha Y. Blackwell, Cynthia J. Hudson (Mike); stepchildren, Ray Jackson, Jr. (Sally) and Jenny E. Dickert (Mike); 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Willie R. Yawn, second husband, Birtie Raymond Jackson, Sr; son, Larry M. Yawn; brothers, Charlie Marshall Rose, Jr., Jerry Wayne Rose, Thomas Andrew Rose and sister, Judith R. Butler.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Tri-County Hospice, SCOA and all the family and friends who lifted her up in prayers and visits.
