Burt was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Lanier; son, Richard Burton Lanier (Wendye); daughters, Linda Lanier Padgett (Dale) and Cheryl Lanier Gregory (Kevin); two stepsons, Michael Frederick Gregory (Lisa) and Kevin Guy Gregory (Cheryl); brother, Lonnie Brinson Lanier; several nieces and nephews; along with thirteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Mr. Lanier was pre-deceased by his first wife, Tina Hickson Lanier; brother, Glynn Edward Lanier; sister, Theresa Lanier Akins; sister-in-law, Henrietta Lee Lanier; and stepson, Kent Robert Gregory.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
