WEST COLUMBIA - Carl Cravey, age 92, departed this life on November 3, 2014. He was born August 7, 1922 in Milan, Georgia. Carl was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a hardworking practical man who took care of his family. A WWII veteran, he retired from the US Army, DC Federal Government, & the State of SC. He met his cherished wife Annemarie while on a tour of duty in Salzburg, Austria.
He leaves behind his wife, Annemarie; daughters, Annelies Bumgarner (Rex) and Rosemarie Cravey; grandchildren, Kelly Williams (Robbie), Jason Bumgarner (Debbie), Alex Bumgarner (Debra), Lorelei Graye, Ivan Bumgarner (Becky) and numerous great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
We will miss his common sense and humorous style.
A farewell gathering will be held at the Chapel of Hope on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
