Carol was born in Brownfield, Texas on October 30, 1938. Carol married Byrnes M. “Butch” Bonnette, Jr. in 1959 and moved to South Congaree, SC. Carol loved her family and loved and served in her church, Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness, for many years. Carol retired from the University of South Carolina as Benefits Manager and was a longtime Gamecock fan.
She is survived by her children, Russ Bonnette (Julie), Michelle Earle (Mike), Denise Bonnette, Gregg Bonnette (Paula) and Jennifer Berry (Mike); 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren (to whom she was GGMa, Oma, Mamaw). Carol is also survived by her sisters, Alene Showers and Patsy Nickles (Len) of Salem, Oregon.
Carol was predeceased by her husband, Byrnes M. Bonnette, Jr.; siblings, Dorene Garland, Delvis Freeman and her parents, Elvis and Mel Freeman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness Church with interment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church sanctuary.
