Carolyn T Sox

Carolyn Taylor Sox, 96, was born in Columbia, South Carolina, and attended Columbia High School. She raised her family in Cayce and resided in Lexington for 39 years. Carolyn was the daughter of Blanche Taylor Trianosky and Martin Luther Taylor.

Carolyn was married to her beloved husband, William Robert “Bobby” Sox, for 31 years, and they had five children. She was an active member of Broadacres Baptist Church for 62 years and spent her life serving the Lord. Carolyn was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched all hearts that knew her. She was an avid reader, enjoyed writing poetry, and enjoyed singing and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her five children, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. Children: Patsy Sox Dooley (Henry), Robbie Sox (Christy), Laurie Sox Bryan (Pate), Marty Sox (Lesa), and Stacie Sox Davenport (Greg). Grandchildren: Kellison Dooley Ricard (Ben), Rebecca Dooley Stillinger, Robert Dooley (Chess), Brian Sox (Kerri), Jason Sox (Angela), Amanda Sox (Jay Briggs), Drew Bryan (Marissa), Allison Bryan Thompson (Derrick), Jaymee Sox Day (Bobby), Mallory Sox Guptill (Jared), Caroline Davenport Watson (Sam), Jenna Davenport.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Blanche Taylor Trianosky and Martin Luther Taylor, her husband, William Robert “Bobby” Sox, her brother Donald O. Taylor, and her sister, Jean Taylor Woods.

A visitation for Carolyn will be held Friday, January 24, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM. Following the visitation will be a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - West Columbia Chapel, 820 W. Dunbar Rd, W. Columbia, South Carolina 29170.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carolyn Sox may be made to Broadacres Baptist Church - Music Ministry located at 2350 Taylor Road, Cayce, South Carolina, 29033, or Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
