
Clarence Edwin Stimmell
LEXINGTON - Clarence Edwin Stimmell of Lexington, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011.
He was born on November 18, 1941 in Briar Hill, Pennsylvania, to the late Woodrow Stimmell and Julia Pastorious Stimmell. He served in the US Army and graduated from Cleveland State University with a degree in Computer Programming, and then attended the University of Wisconsin where he received a Masters in Finance. He retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Carolina in 2003. He was an avid Gamecock fan, lifetime golfer, and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Emmett “Bud” Stimmell and Cecil Rohrer.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cheri; as well as his five children, David Stimmell (Melanie), Victoria Stimmell Durden, Devon Stimmell, Brian Marcum (JJ), and Jennifer Stimmell Mozingo (David); 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold Stimmell(Carol), Donald Rohrer (Kay); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and his best friend and golfing buddy of 50 years, Daniel J. Walker.
Clarence was loved and respected by all, and has left behind an imprint on the many lives that he has touched with his never dying faith in God and his kind heartedness.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel on West Dunbar Road, with a funeral service to be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Southland Memorial Gardens.
