Mrs. Bryant passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 11, 2019. Born in Florence, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy Blackstock and the late Anniebelle Hefner. She was the wife of the late Lewis Bryant. She has one surviving sister, Nancy Mercer of North Carolina. She was predeceased by two brothers, Charles Blackstock of North Carolina and Lewis Blackstock of North Carolina. Surviving are her children: daughter, Mary Bryant Nunnary (Keith); daughter, Elizabeth Bryant Jumper (DJ) and son, Robert Lee Bryant (Jo). She was predeceased by her son, David Ray Bryant (Wanda). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She has numerous nieces and nephews who lovingly called her “Aunt Ginny.”
She worked in the textile industry for over 50 years. She was adored by her family and was known by many for her strength. She loved a house full of family and always said that a door constantly opening and closing was just a sign that the kids were having fun playing. She loved her coffee and Mountain Dew. Some of her favorite sayings were, “Don’t rush me,” “Gimme a minute,” and “What’s your rush?” Her grandchildren have a lot of “Mamaw says” rules to live by. Her spunk with knowing exactly what she wanted and telling you what it was in a loving way will never be forgotten.
The family is grateful to the Lexington Medical Hospital staff for their compassion and personal care given to Mrs. Bryant during her time of need. The family also appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Flowers may be sent to Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.
