David Watson

Throughout his life, David carried himself with a steady honesty and a quiet wisdom that others came to trust. He met life with hard work and resolve, and with a bravery that did not seek attention, but earned respect. Even in serious moments, his humor had a way of easing the weight of the day and drawing people closer.

David worked as a pipe welder and iron worker—work that demanded skill, endurance, and pride in doing things the right way. He brought the same straightforward integrity to his trade that he brought to his relationships, showing up with consistency, grit, and a deep sense of responsibility.

Away from work, David’s adventurous spirit found its place outdoors and at the track. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he loved racing—going fast and working on race cars—pursuits that reflected his boldness, curiosity, and appreciation for the thrill of the moment.

David is survived by his daughters, Josie Ann Durbin, Britani Kuhn and her husband Chris Kuhn, Teresa Rhame, and Tristen Watson; his son, Travis Watson and his wife Katie Watson; and his brother, Matthew Watson, grandchildren; Michael, Xavier, Luke, Emma, Clara, Caydence, Bailey, Lilly, Travis Jr., Elaina, Jayce, and Korbin.

David will be remembered with gratitude and respect—for the life he built through effort, for the candor and wisdom he offered, for the courage he carried, and for the laughter and adventure he brought to those who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 10:00 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with interment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July, 1, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 at the funeral home.
