Elsie Marie Wise Gunter

WEST COLUMBIA – A funeral service will be held for Elsie Marie Wise Gunter, 85, at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at The Cayce Church of the Nazarene with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pastor David Spires will be officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Joe Adamski, Chuck Robbins, Cecil Dykes, Matt Brown, Michael Hall Christopher Robbins and Dwayne Trapp. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel.

Mrs. Gunter, beloved wife of the late Henry Lee Gunter, Sr., went to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 15, 2013. She was born on July 14, 1928. She was a daughter of the late George Dewey Wise and Louella Shumpert Wise.

She loved her family and shopping with friends. She was a long-time member of The Cayce Church of the Nazarene and the Glory Corner Sunday School class will miss her. Her faith and love of her Lord shone through. She was a wonderful example to her family, her generous and loving heart and with her beautiful smile she made life-long friends everywhere she went who will share in our sorrow.

She is survived by a daughter, Marie (Mike) Adams of Cayce, SC; sons, Tommy Gunter, Ray Gunter and Leon Gunter all of West Columbia, SC; a granddaughter, Lisa Adams and a grandson, Daniel Gunter; sisters, Elaine Spigner, Eula Shumpert Vermelle Taylor all of Matthews, NC and a brother, Leonard (Louise) Wise of Cayce, SC. She was predeceased in addition to her parents and husband; a son, Henry Lee “H. L.” Gunter, Jr.
