Faye M. Harper, a loving, devoted, and hard working wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 28th, 2025 at the age of 92. Born on April 22, 1933 in La France, SC, to Jay Doyle & Eloise Harper, she was a proud resident of West Columbia, South Carolina for the majority of her life.
A graduate of La France High School, class of 1951 where she lettered in basketball, she lived a long and beautiful life full of memories with family and friends. She had unwavering strength, unshakeable faith, and was known to be fiercely independent. A member Green Hill Baptist Church for 61 years, one of her favorite things to do was to spend time with the Sunshine Group and Senior Group there.
In addition to her devotion to her church, you could often catch her working on a crossword, or asking, “What channel does the Clemson game come on?” A lover of animals, she had pets her whole life and was greatly devoted to them and their protection. Her favorite past time of all though would be to sit down with family and friends for a good home cooked meal and an even better conversation.
She is survived by her 2 children, Lissa Gayle Harper and Timothy Jay Harper (Brandy); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Scott O. Harper; her husband, Harrison O. Harper; and her daughter, Dawn H. Scarano.
May her love of food, fellowship, and fun live on in those who loved and knew her.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 7th, 2025 at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.
